This kimono features Mokko Kamon, one of the ten most used family emblems in Japan.
There are several opinions and theories about what mokko-mon is based on, such as a cross section of a gourd or the gourd itself, or of a bird nest.
One thing for sure is, the most famous mokko-mon is Oda Nobunaga's Oda Mokko.
